Four Months Old

Besides being cute and sweet, Abby is busy these days perfecting her grabbing skills, holding up her head and neck, "talking" to anyone who will pay attention to her, drooling, and waking up extra hungry at night!

Sea World with Grandma and Grandpa

 

We had a great day at Sea World - not too hot, no lines, and lots of watery fun!

 

Naomi and I fed dolphins - a dream for both of us.  We both want to be dolphin trainers when we grow up!

 

One of Johnathan's favorites is still the penguins.  This time there were some humans on exhibit in there, too.

Another first was that Kevin talked Naomi and Johnathan into riding this roller coaster with him and Grandpa.  They absolutely refused to go on it again, though!  But Grandpa liked it so much he convinced Grandma and me to go with him for a second time.

 

Since we had Grandma and Grandpa to watch the kids, Kevin also wanted to be courageous and try the "Great White" rollercoaster with his wife.  Together were flung upside down and every other direction for just over a minute - very romantic!

Old San Antone

Today we travelled back in time at the Witte Museum in San Antonio.  First, a treat for Ezra - we rode to the museum on the Zoo train.  He was enthralled!

At the museum we spent most of our time in the newer South Texas History exhibit, riding, learning about horn furniture, and pumping water.

The HEB Science Treehouse was fun, too.

 

Then we took a quick walk through the Alamo before closed for the evening.

 

A Few Boaz Favorites

To celebrate Grandpa Boaz's upcoming birthday, we pulled out a few Boaz family classics:

 

Gyoza

 

Kevin consults the notebook of recipes his mom made for him when he went away to college.  It includes his long-time favorites like gyoza, German pancakes, meatballs and rice, and even ramen!

Ezra tried gyoza, but said, "I don't yike (like) it!"

Texas Sheath Cake
This recipe is another Boaz family favorite from Grandmother McNabb's recipe box.  Of course, here in Texas they just call it "Sheath Cake"! 

Canasta

 

Kevin and his folks love to play Canasta.  We've played many a hand around the card table at their house.  This evening Abby got her first Canasta lesson!
