Grandma and Grandpa to the Rescue!

 

 

For Thanksgiving this year, Kevin led a team from our church on a trip to the Dominican Republic.  But Grandma and Grandpa Stata flew down from Colorado to help us run the circus while Daddy was away.  While Kevin spoke at a marriage conference, visited a school, and continued to build relationships with the people of Templo Biblico in Barahona, the home team kept busy...

This Thanksgiving we were very thankful for their help and company... and that Daddy got home safely!

Artists at Work

 

Johnathan's latest interest is in making tiny comic books.  Occasionally he commissions a partner to help him.  He has comics of all kinds, and he'll sell them to you for a bargain of $.50 to $1, depending on how much coloring he did! 

 

Around the World in 3 Hours

We travelled the world this weekend at the Brazos Valley Worldfest!  The kids got their "passports" stamped by international students from dozens of countries.   The "World Village" they set up was a feast for the senses - music, activities, cultural clothing, and my favorite part - authentic snacks and treats!  

The kids loved the unique petting zoo, too.  Besides the usual farm animals, they got to get up close to a camel, baby zebra, baby kangaroo, bison calf, and a lemur!

Abby was amazed to be able to whack, I mean pat, the goats and bison!
