Merry Christmas from the Boaz Family! We’ve been living in Texas for 4 years now, and our family
continues to grow, learn, and work together.
Naomi turned 9 and is in 3rd grade. She got her first pair of glasses this year
and is using them to devour books, especially her favorite mysteries. She and Johnathan are taking classes on
Fridays for Music, PE, Art, and Drama to supplement our homeschool
learning. She loves drama
especially! Naomi’s also learning to
play the piano. She continues to enjoy
Awana and is in the T&T club now.
She also loved being in a newly-formed children’s choir at church that
sang for Easter and performed in nursing homes. Naomi is also becoming a great
swimmer. She swims twice a week with a
team at our fitness center – she says her best stroke is the butterfly!
And He said to them, “You

Johnathan is 7 and is working hard in 1st
grade. He and Naomi keep busy with
activities along with our school work.
His favorite class on Fridays is PE, but he also loves art. This year he’s become a drawing enthusiast –
you can often find him leaning over a mini comic book he’s working on or trying
something new from one of his how-to-draw books. Johnathan continues to go to Sparks club
every Wednesday. And he got to do more
sessions of therapeutic horseback riding this spring and fall. This winter he and Dad are doing Upwards
basketball. Johnathan is also growing
stronger all the time in swimming, practicing with the team and participating
in his first race day!
“If anyone would be
first, he must be last of all and servant

Ezra is 3 and he keeps us all laughing every day. He loves trains, Legos, sword fighting, and
anything else his big brother does. He
got his first stitches in his forehead this year, after an unfortunate run-in with a wall at
home. Knowing Ezra, they probably won’t
be his last! He joined Awana this year
and loves being a Cubbie. Ezra loves singing lullabies to his baby sister, too. He is a bundle of energy and makes us laugh
every day with his unique observations on life!
For all have sinned and fall short of the
glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption

Little Abby celebrated her first birthday in May, and it has
been a joy to watch her grow and learn.
She spends her days toddling around the house looking for a cupboard to
empty, a baby stroller to push, or a lap in which to snuggle and read a book. She’s been working hard lately on growing
hair, imitating words, and climbing tables, too!
Therefore, as one
trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to
justification and life for all
men. Now the law came in to increase the
trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more. Romans 5:18
and 20
Kevin just finished recording his first year of “The
Milestone Minute”, a one-minute spot that airs on a local radio station every
weekday evening to share ideas for parents to make Christ the center of their
homes. He also led a team from Zion to
the Dominican Republic, where they led a marriage conference, a youth concert,
and visited a school for special needs kids.
Rachel continues to serve the family by leading our school
and living sacrificially each day. She
enjoyed joining some of her friends from church for a discipleship conference
in Dallas. She is looking forward to
seeing what doors God opens for investing in the lives of other women in
2014. She also enjoys her hobby of
taking photos and sharing about our family’s journey through our

We got to travel to Colorado 5 times this year. Rachel and Abby went for a little Mommy-Baby
family visit, and Kevin went for a visit in December. The whole family visited three times in the
spring and summer – once for a happy occasion, the wedding of our niece. We also went twice for sad but sweet visits
to remember the lives of Rachel’s Grandma and Grandpa Gardner.
We are thankful that through a year of work and fun, joy and
sorrow, we can see God’s hand holding us through it all. We’d love to share more
