2019 Christmas Letter: Continue

For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.  Psalm 100:5

Merry Christmas from the Boaz family!  Thank you for taking the the time to read about God’s continuing faithfulness in our lives as our family grows and our church-planting journey in Colorado Springs continues!

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it.  2 Timothy 3:14

Here’s our blooming second grader, Abby! She loves school, reading, and playing the piano, and she always has a hug to brighten our days.  She tried cross-country this fall and ran her mile-long races with a spring in her step, a smile, and was always happy to slow down to chat with other runners along the course!  

Ezra is getting so tall and loves learning in third grade!  His favorite subjects are history and science, and he can’t get enough of them, filling up notebooks of things he’s learned on whatever topic he’s currently interested in.  He’s continuing to learn to play the piano, and he’s even taken to composing piano pieces complete with musical notation. He joined his little sister in trying out cross-country and worked so hard!

Johnathan moved up to junior high this year and is enjoying his new campus. He started learning to play the clarinet in the school band, and he’s also picked up a new hobby of oil painting. He loves sushi, books, and spending time with friends from school and youth group. 

Naomi is now a freshman in high school!  She’s learning French and continues to love singing in the choir. She is the official family pastry chef, regularly whipping up yummy treats for us to try. And she loves volunteering at the public library, both as a summer reading program volunteer and a study buddy to help younger kids with homework during the school year. 

Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all, for your progress and joy in the faith.  Philippians 1:25

Kevin is so thankful to serve as the lead pastor at Incline Church, which continues to grow in our third year of planting. It’s been a blessing to partner with the elementary school where we meet in serving the community. too. Rachel has continued to fill her days with school carpool, hosting a women’s Bible study in our home, and serving as a substitute teacher at Abby’s and Ezra’s school campus.

At the beginning of the summer, we got to join another family from our church on a ministry trip to Wyoming to join another church plant put on a basketball clinic for their community. It was so fun to see the whole family find ways to serve and help at the clinic, and we took a quick trip to Mount Rushmore, too, while we were in that area. And this fall it was a gift to be able to take the family on a special trip to see where Kevin spent his high school years in Honolulu, Hawaii! It was so fun to take them all over the island to see favorite spots, introduce the kids to special friends, and stay in a guest house at Kevin’s church.

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.  Colossians 4:2

We remain so thankful for your prayers and support as we continue to plant Incline Church in Colorado Springs. It’s a joy to see how God is answering prayers and allowing us to take part in what He is doing in this community. We hope you have a Christmas filled with hope, joy and peace that comes from Him!
