On the Beach

USS Lexington

We went back in time on the USS Lexington.  It was fascinating to explore the deck, climb tiny metal stairways, and see the captain's quarters and pilot room.  

Spring on Mustang Island

Although we get to see Rachel's side of the family when we travel to Colorado, we've never been able to have everyone come to Texas at the same time.  So we were excited to have a little family reunion on Mustang Island, by Corpus Christi.  We all gathered to have lots of cousin fun, beach time, and more!

Yard Work

We used to have the church playground and two garden beds right behind our backyard.  So that's where we spent a lot of play time, and it was a great source of tomatoes and basil and other garden goodies.  Now that the area is a construction zone for the new ministry building, it was time to use our own backyard a little more! 

So I was excited to be given this cute tub that is now growing just enough tomatoes and basil to keep us supplied for caprese salad this summer.

And below is the sandbox I "found" on Pinterest - and by that I mean that my sweet neighbor gave it to us when she saw that I was pinning pictures of sandboxes and she had one to give away!  The kids are having a great time getting all sandy in the backyard now.

Happy Easter!

Easter Cantata

This year Naomi and I both had a part in the Easter cantata.  She sang with the children's choir, and I played a flute obbligato for one of the songs.  We loved performing at two nursing homes on the Saturday before Easter.
