Happy Birthday, Naomi!

Naomi has left the world of single-digits, because she's now 10!  Where has the time gone?

Daddy and Naomi's tradition is to go out for lunch together on her birthday, so this year, they tried out a new Asian restaurant.

Naomi wanted a chocolate chip cookie dough cake, so I found a new recipe and tried it out.  Yummy!

We love you, sweet Naomi, and have loved this decade of getting to know you!

Happy Birthday, Johnathan!

It's the Big 8 for Johnathan this year!  We celebrated him with his breakfast birthday stocking,

and a trip to Franklin Ranch to play on the fun playgrounds, splash pad, and have a picnic.

Johnathan's cake of choice this year was cheescake, with cherries and all kinds of toppings.  Happy birthday, buddy!  We love watching you grow, learn, and can't imagine our family without you!

The Marble Game

Some call it Aggravation or Sorry, but in Kevin's family, it's just called "the marble game."  Kevin's grandfather made a board that has been played by many, and Kevin enjoyed trying out the board he and Johnathan made with his nephews!

Space Center Houston

A day at Space Center Houston with the cousins!  We explored the space shuttle.

Uncle Kevin and Ben dared to go to the top of a tower... and one of them jumped off!

Ezra volunteered to demonstrate life in space... for a brief time (I don't think he understood what he was raising his hand for!)

And we touched a piece of the moon!

We also got to tour the test center for the latest in space exploration, 

and walk the length of the amazing Saturn V rocket.

4th of July

Celebrating the 4th at the Kurten Community Center!

Summer and Cousins

Cousins Ben and Matthew and Auntie Karen came to visit in the heat of July, so we had a fun time showing them how to stay cool!  They helped the kids try out giant bubbles, played Wii in the roasting afternoons, and jumped in a friend's pool whenever we got the chance.
