Medieval Feast

 

To cap off learning about the Middle Ages, we had a Medieval feast.  We were graced by the company of two fearless knights, a princess, and her baby-in-waiting. 

 

Though our feast was pretty simple compared to the real ones, we had fun eating roasted Cornish game hen, venison sausage, and roasted vegetables eaten on trenchers (bread plates) with no utensils, and ale (ginger, that is!).

Milestone Minutes

 

Weeknights at about 5:20 CST (or on the web at peace107.com), you can now hear our favorite Daddy/husband share a one-minute radio spot about celebrating spritual milestones in your family's lives!  Every few weeks, he and Naomi or Johnathan go to the station to record the spots.  The have all been learning from the experience - how the station works, how to express your thoughts into a concise one-minute packages, and more.  We'd love for you to tune in to FM 107.7 if you live in our area, or listen online!

Eight Months Old

 

Abbycakes is 8 months old now and keeping us on our toes. 

She spends a lot of time pulling herself by her arms around the house, looking for tiny things to put in her mouth.  And she is not happy if you take the pilfered items away from her!  She loves her food, murmuring "Mmmm" after every bite.  She's trying out puffs and little snacks now, and she seems pretty excited about that.

 Now that she's sleeping all night, we're all feeling better... until she cut her  two bottom teeth, followed by all four top teeth, which are on their way as of this post.  When she's happy, Abby says "dadada," and when she's not, she calls "mamamama!" 

Air Force Field Trip

 

What looked to be a regular day of swim team followed by school turned into a really fun "field trip" when our friend Barnabas, a flight instructor pilot in the Air Force, flew into College Station with two student pilots.  We had lunch together and got see the inside of the plane he flies!
