Five month old Abby... grabbing toes and tasting them, gurgling, blowing raspberries, making "yucky" faces every time we offer her cereal... and being charming. She loves people!

Happy 120th!
Zion Church of Kurten celebrated its 120th anniversary this month! We commemorated God's faithfulness with a special service. Here are Naomi and Johnathan singing "God of Wonders".
After the service we had a big lunch.
One of my favorite parts of the day came after the celebration, when I was chatting with a pastor and his wife who ministered here 40 years ago. As newlyweds they lived in the old parsonage that sat in the same spot as the newer parsonage where we now live. They told me a story about how a rodent died in the wall of their bathroom shortly after they moved in, creating a terrible smell. I was tickled because we, too, had some kind of rodent die in an unreachable spot in our kitchen not long after we moved here! I can laugh about it now... but at the time, well... Did I mention I was pregnant at when that happened?

Are You Ready For Some Football?
Johnathan is lacing up his cleats again for Upwards football. This year he is on the Hornets team. With several of his buddies and a veteran coaching staff, he had a great first game! He kicked off the season by running in the football for his first-ever extra point and snagging his first flag.
He had a great Yell Leader on the sidelines, too!

Four Months Old
Besides being cute and sweet, Abby is busy these days perfecting her grabbing skills, holding up her head and neck, "talking" to anyone who will pay attention to her, drooling, and waking up extra hungry at night!

Sea World with Grandma and Grandpa
We had a great day at Sea World - not too hot, no lines, and lots of watery fun!
Naomi and I fed dolphins - a dream for both of us. We both want to be dolphin trainers when we grow up!
One of Johnathan's favorites is still the penguins. This time there were some humans on exhibit in there, too.
Abby's first beluga show!
Another first was that Kevin talked Naomi and Johnathan into riding this roller coaster with him and Grandpa. They absolutely refused to go on it again, though! But Grandpa liked it so much he convinced Grandma and me to go with him for a second time.
Since we had Grandma and Grandpa to watch the kids, Kevin also wanted to be courageous and try the "Great White" rollercoaster with his wife. Together were flung upside down and every other direction for just over a minute - very romantic!
Here's the little orca we saw as a baby 2 years ago... Much bigger and participating in the Shamu show.
