May Days

It's been a crazy month, and I haven't been able to post much, so here's a quick update on the latest news...

Our month has been full with soccer practice and games, finishing up Naomi's school year and music classes, taking Johnathan to his last few weeks of preK, and trying to keep Ezra from leaping off furniture, spilling everything in his path, and dumping out every book or toy he can find! 

And then there was a round of drawn-out colds for most of the family, buying dozens of boxes of kleenex, and dispensing multiple doses of cough medicine.

Besides that, we have been doing our best to prepare for Baby Boaz, setting up her crib in "the girl's room" and moving the bunk bed to create "the boy's room" Ezra and Johnathan.  They love being roommates!

  Our doctor told us to prepare for the possiblity of the baby been born sooner than our due date, so we're getting everything as ready to go as we can.  Kevin's taken on the role of "Super Dad" in the last few weeks, covering lots of Mom's usual responsibilities because she's been pretty well out of commission with inflammation problems in her leg, lots of doctor's appointments, and a couple ER visits. 

With our camera packed in the hospital bag, hopefully soon we will have good news to share!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to our moms!  We love you!

This Mother's Day I felt as "full" of motherhood as only 9-months-pregnant mama can!

I was treated to a delicious dinner at home for Mother's Day.  Salmon, couscous, asparagus, and roasted purple cauliflower puree.  Yum!  Did you know that when you squeeze lemon over purple cauliflower puree, it turns hot pink?  Very pretty, with a science lesson mixed in! 

I have to laugh when I see this picture of our dessert  But what it lacked in elegant presentation, it made up for in tastiness! 

Every mom is supposed to be able to rest on Mother's Day, right?  I can say that I got more than my share of rest... in fact, I've been resting overtime lately with a painful inflammation problem with my leg... and a bad cold... and that whole nine-months-pregnant thing.  But despite all that, I had a sweet day, and I am so grateful for Kevin, Naomi, Johnathan, Ezra, and Baby Girl!

 This weekend Zion had its annual Jubilee.  This year there was a huge thrill for Ezra - a train ride!  Ezra is train-crazy these days.  He's been introduced to Thomas, and he gets supremely excited when he hears or sees a train.  Ezra is still talking about the "choo choo" today - telling it "bye-bye"!

Easter

Happy Easter!  We spent our morning first in the chapel, watching the choir perform their cantata.  It's rare that we get to have Daddy sit with us for a whole service, so it was special to squeeze into a pew with him, Johnathan curled up on his lap.

Then we were off to the service.  We took these pictures afterward.  Ezra just can't resist that glass podium.

For dinner we had our Passover Seder, which we delayed from Friday, because Passover is no fun when Naomi has stomach flu!  We thought we were in the clear by Sunday....

...but the highly observant might notice that Johnathan's not looking too good in this picture.  I'll spare you the details, but we didn't make it through this meal, either!

Saturday before Easter around here is egg hunt day.

 And we had fun painting eggs, too.  Daddy and Johnathan work hard on their Bronco-colored eggs.

Ezra had no patience for coloring eggs, but he was quite fascinated with putting the tiny egg stickers on his hand!
