My Grandma Gardner lived just down the street for as long as I can remember, and when I spent the night or just walked over for a visit, I always went away knowing I was loved as surely as the scent of her perfume that lingered even after I headed home. Grandma was an OR nurse, favored the color red, had a marked-up Bible, and delighted in her great-grandchildren.
When she passed away a week after Easter, we flew to gather with our family in Colorado Springs for her service and grieve with Grandpa.
Of course, with so many of their great-grandchildren running around, the atmosphere back at Grandma and Grandpa Stata's house was hardly somber, and Naomi made sure the trip in the limo was lively!
We feel blessed to be able to be together at a time like this!
