Camping on the Beach
"Never leave home without a tent and sleeping bag" might be one of Grandpa Stata's unspoken mottos... At least not if there's any possibility that you might get to camp! He just happened to pack a small tent and sleeping bag in his suitcase for this trip to Corpus Christi, so he and Johnathan decided that a night on the beach was in order.
Of course, they weren't very far from civilization. Our neighborhood was just over the boardwalk!
Though they didn't necessarily have a quiet evening (as a group of campers pulled up next to them in the middle of the night), they had a fun adventure camping on the beach!

Early Birthday for Abby
It wasn't quite Abby's second birthday, but it was close enough that we couldn't pass up the chance to have a little birthday party with her cousins! Happy early birthday, Abby. This was the first of several celebrations in honor of her birthday, so she was just getting the hang of it!
Dolphin Tour
One of the highlights of our trip was a dolphin tour in Corpus Christi Bay. We spent part of the morning following a shrimping boat, searching for the dolphins who follow looking for a meal. Though it took a while to find them, once we did, it was really fun to see them swimming all around the boat!
