Growing Up in Church

 

Every year as the kids grow, they get to participate in corporate worship in new ways.  This year, Naomi is old enough to light the candles at the beginning of the service.

 

 

And Ezra "graduated" from the nursery when he turned 3, so he joins us in the service and goes to Children's Church.  Here he is jingling a bell necklace during one of the "Children's Moments" that we have occasionally for the little people in the service.

 

World's Largest Gingerbread House

 

When we discovered that the world's largest gingerbread house was right in College Station, we simply had to go see it. Here it is, having recently broken the record in the Guinness Book of World Records! 

It smelled so good!

December Book Reports

 

Our book reports for December:  The Three Trees and Mary's First Christmas.  Naomi and Johnathan wrote (and/or drew) the components of their reports on sparkly Christmas ornaments and hung them on little trees, which somehow is way more fun than writing it on regular paper! 

Grandma School

 

While Dad was visiting Colorado Springs, the crew back at home got a fun addition to our homeschool - Grandma Stata!  Everyone wanted to do school with her, so they often ended up gathering around the dining room table to work.

We got lots of school done, but we got to play, too.  We went to the park to feed the ducks and get some pictures in the beautiful weather.

Christmas for the Birds

 

It's time to give the birds a treat for Christmas! 

 

It think our bird friends appreciated it, because the pinecones were clean within a few days.  Merry Christmas, birds!
