A Little Bonus Vacation

We traveled back from Atlanta a little early so Kevin could officiate a funeral back in Kurten over the weekend.  But since he already had someone preaching for him at Zion on Sunday, we rearranged our original plans and zipped out of town to Austin for a little bonus vacation.  We enjoyed brunch at Cheesecake Factory, checked in at our favorite nurse's cabin at Twin Oaks camp, and visited Austin Stone for their evening church service.

Twin Oaks camp has been such a restful place for us... we love breakfast outside on the picnic tables, swinging in the hammocks, fishing and kayaking on Onion Creek, playing in the game room, and bunking together in the little nurse's cabin.   

Kicking Around Atlanta

One more day in Atlanta, so we decided to use the last part of out city passes to play a little at the College Football Hall of Fame.

And we enjoyed playing at the playgrounds and exploring the Olypmic Plaza right by our hotel.

Georgia Aquarium

Wherever we travel, if there's an aquarium there, we always go.  But this is the first trip we've made for the purpose of going to the aquarium. And it was well worth the trip to see the Georgia Aquarium!

Everything was amazing, from the beluga whales and dolphin show, to the whale shark exhibit.

We could have sat for hours watching the whale sharks and giant manta rays swim by! This was an aquarium we'll never forget.

Swimming in Coke

Our first tour in Atlanta... The World of Coke! Where we saw lots of Coke. And drank a LOT of Coke.  I'm pretty sure we haven't really let any of the kids have any caffeinated sodas before, so you can imagine how excited they were to have unlimited samples of hundreds of combinations of Coke products from around the world!

We were excited to see pandas - a first for the kids.

And we had fun riding the train and the carousel, too!

Spring Break: Georgia Bound!

Our much-anticipated spring trip to Atlanta started with a visit to some long-time friends who now live in Louisiana.  Then we pushed on to the east through uncharted territory!  On our way, we had to dip our feet in the Gulf in Mississippi.

Easter Eggs

  A few favorite memories from Easter this year...

Holding the bunny and hunting for eggs at Zion (I can only ever get a picture of one of the kids for the egg hunt, because we have a kid in each age group hunting in a separate area.  By the time I run to the next area to take pictures of the next kid, they're already done!).

We sat at the picnic tables to color eggs - no mess and beautiful evening weather!
